Day 3 sandland brygge
The wind was in a different direction today although stronger to start with it was forecast to ease later on. We started in another different area where we hoped to catch some better coalfish. As it happened we did really well for cod . fishing was hard and drifts were short as we drifted at 2.5-3knots at times. Thankfully the wind eased a touch and not a moment too soon as the fish were drying up a bit here. We crept out a bit further from the shelter of the land and had a couple of bites on our first mark but nothing special and we were still shifting well on the drift. We had another move to a different mark where fishing was far better. We had a great afternoon with all 3 of us often into fish at the same time. Fish were mostly in the 3-10lbs range with the odd bigger fish and lee having the biggest at just shy of 20lbs and a PB for lee. we went over some haddock and dad had one of over 9lbs! we had several torsk and a little halibut for dad. We had over 75 cod for the day and were pleased we had pushed a bit further off.
