A couple of our last trips before this lockdown were spent within the blackwater estuary due to the weather conditions. Happily despite some wind and rain several of the lads were still keen to get out fishing for the day. there were loads of fish to keep us busy and we could fish in relative comfort thanks to the shelter of the blackwater estuary and our comfy catamaran. There was no shortage of life within the estuary, whiting and dogfish were queuing up to jump on our hooks with a fish or a missed bite most casts. The lads fished through these and every now and then we were lucky enough to see a roker come aboard. It wasn’t just roker that brightened up our trips. Chris Bendall snuck out the first codling from the estuary. it was only small but very welcome. He followed this with a bass soon after as well which finished the day off nicely. The next trip in the estuary was just as productive although a little more wet! The lads did however manage to sneak out 3 codling between the whiting, dogfish and roker. This seemed to be a really good sign as it was only the end of October and we had just caught as many codling in one day as we saw in the whole of last winter! Unfortunately this dreaded virus and the current restrictions have stopped us heading out for the time being but hopefully we will be allowed out to see if we can find some more in December.
Due to the current lockdown I have cancelled trips until 2nd of December when it is due to be lifted. December dates are filling up quickly. Hopefully you should be able to get out fishing on your own from the beach or bank if I cant get you out.
I am currently able to offer single person bookings only until the 2nd of December. I can offer two different rates- full boat whole day charter £400 or full boat half day charter (likely within the blackwater) £200.
I have plenty of availability throughout November should you wish to get out and can afford to book the boat.
For now I will continue to take bookings for December and into the new year in the hope that we can get you back out there soon.
