we managed to get afloat in between the poor weather this week and there were plenty of fish about. There’s no shortage of whiting and dogfish around now along with the odd late summer species too the rods are kept busy.
Leon and the lads were out for this months trip and despite rain being forecast it held off until late in the day and we had a good trip. There was a steady stream of roker coming in in between the dogs and whiting. Terry had a whiting mangled up by something, it didn’t look like a seal attack so who knows what it was? Andy and Rueben had joined the lads to make up the numbers today and on the last knockings Andy snuck out a late smooth-hound. Reuben had been out fishing him on the roker though and is doing really well now he has a few trips under his belt. By the end of the day the lads had 48 roker which is good for this time of year and the stamp of fish wasn’t too bad either.
Hopefully the roker will hang around as long as the water temperature doesn’t drop too much, these will keep us busy along with the whiting, dogfish and other bits and bobs. We will have a chance of the all to elusive codling too but I would get your hopes up for huge amounts. That said you wont catch any sitting at home. I have a few spaces left over the coming weeks including this week.
