Today was the eastern region police comp which the galloper was booked for along with 5 other boats. We picked up the lads from brightlingsea at 8.30am and headed out for the day. There was a fair breeze blowing which was forecast to die down later today but sadly it wouldn’t die until we were on our way in. the weather dictated where we would all fish so to my mind it would be more of a snitching competition. It was a busy day with lots of whiting, dogfish and a few roker for me to unhook, measure and note down between making the tea so I had to earn my keep for a change. I had a good crew on my boat who fished hard on a sunny but blustery autumn day. On our way in we slowed down to watch the waverley dock on the end of Clacton pier. Kevin green was the over all winner on points, he did well to pull it back from a quiet spell in the middle of the day.
