Had 5 lads out on a premier trip today. there was a fair breeze today so we stayed in the river. We started off trying for dabs but got slaughtered by whiting instead. The wishbone and paternoster rigs were coming up with double shoats all of the time. We didn’t find any dabs but the tides weren’t ideal for them today. we moved on and hoped to find something other than whiting on the next mark. Our luck was in as after the first few whiting we had a roker and this was followed soon after by a codling for martin. After a good while with a load more whiting coming in we had a short move. Our next mark produced more whiting and a dogfish for alex before slack tide. We had a move over slack and finished the day with another load of whiting and a couple more roker as well as sneaking out a couple more dogs. There weren’t loads of big fish today but there was no shortage of fish and the whiting kept us very busy in between the better fish.
