John and the lads had booked the boat between the 6 of them today. there was a good bit of wind again this morning so we started off in the river again. once again there were loads of whiting and dogfish coming out to start with and by the turn of the tide we hadn’t seen any roker of codling so had a move. Our next mark was a little slower but there were still plenty of fish coming out. we had an hour or more here with just whiting and dogfish so another shift was in order. We pushed a fair way down and the sea state was just about manageable. We had 3 roker in the first cast or two as the tide eased off. We sat it out for an hour or so longer here with just dogfish and whiting coming out. the sea state hadn’t eased at all and the lads fancied fishing in a bit more comfort so we had another move. There were loads of whiting on the next mark but no more roker and with another move we headed home with just 3 roker for the day. Hopefully things with pick up on next weeks tides. The weather had hampered us a little this week, a lot of herring are present in the river which may not help along with a lot of commercial pressure on the roker (particularly in there this week). I know some people arnt in to catching roker but I wouldn’t take them for granted as they would have been very welcome this week.
