march

Today I had a group of 7 lads on board for a competition. It was forecast windy all day but the tides and wind direction were favorable for us. We got away fairly early and arrived at our mark at slack tide. We swung around for a short while before the tide started to trickle through. with this came the first fish and the lads were soon pulling a steady stream of roker on board. It took a while before we saw anything else but Adam managed the first whiting of the day. The roker were still coming out in good numbers while the tide ran and after a while longer the first dogfish started to show. We didn’t have loads but there were a few whiting and dogs towards the end of the day. The number of roker started to slow down as the tide died and we had a move closer to home. The tide took an age to turn here and by the time it did it was home time. We only managed one whiting in here but the lads had seen good numbers of fish on the first mark with 75 roker coming out in a busy flurries throughout the day.
