I had 4 lads keen to get out today as indeed was i. there was a lot of wind yesterday and more forecast for today but we headed out to take advantage of a brief lul this morning. With rain forecast and the lads having to travel I thought 6am was a reasonable start. This gave them a chance to break out of the asylum before the guards were up! We got away a bit earlier as everybody was down very sharp. It turned out this was the perfect time to be away as there was a bit of slop as we headed out and it fined away as we got the anchor down. there were a few whiting and dogfish first thing then a few roker started to show. As the tide backed off there were still roker coming out and ian had the biggest, which was a very dark fish weighing at 9lbs or so. It had been drier than I expected although we had one or two sharp showers. As the tide turned the wind freshened and the barometer dropped. We stuck it for as long as we dared but fishing started to become a pain and the sea was building so we headed home. I must admit it was one of the snottiest rides back in a while with the waves blowing smoke but the evolution ate them up and got us home safe and sound. We finished up with 15 roker and were on the mooring by 11am.
