Wayne and the lads had booked the boat today for their annual trip. We got away reasonably early and made our way out in search of some smooth-hounds to start with. We arrived on the first trickle of tide and had a few smooth-hounds come through on the start of the tide. They were joined by the odd roker and a couple of small bass too. After a couple of hours we had seen a good few fish. the hounds weren’t huge but welcome none-the less. we decided to have a move as the bites were starting to slow down and we had run out of crabs. We headed to a different area in search of some more thorn-backs. The next mark had fished well for me just a couple of weeks ago but today we wasted a full hour here without a bite. A sure sign of the change in the seasons as the roker either spread out or don’t feed as much. We had a move and spent the rest of the day here. This mark wasn’t fast and furious but we had a few more nice fish to end the day. We finished up with 15 hounds to 8lbs, 8 roker a few dogfish a couple of bass and a couple of whiting.
