We have had a real mix of weather, people and fishing lately. Inshore we have been catching plenty of hounds. Most trips producing several up to 6-8lbs but on a few trips we got into some decent packs of fish. the best day on hounds over the last couple of weeks (where we have kept an accurate tally) is 63 up to 13lbs. there have often been bass, roker and dogfish mixed in with them. We even managed two stingray on consecutive trips. Stephen Charles was very pleased with his one which added to his list of 4 personal bests in 4 trips. We have also seen several soles this summer. Im not sure if this is a biproduct of us using more rag worm baits or smaller hooks or indeed both but they are welcome along with the increase in eels we have seen.
Most trips we are seeing some bass for the table and some of these have been lovely chunky 4-5lb fish. to be in with the best chance of a sizable bass its best to book an offshore bass trip. These have been productive for us this year and once everybody has their quota of bass we can either play for other species or have some extra fun on the really light tackle for them. I have had some spaces come available for this weekend on offshore bass trips and the weather looks great so don’t miss out as my next weekend spaces for offshore bass trips aren’t until October. I can offer the odd full boat booking for them mid week though.

I am still keeping things the same regarding numbers on the boat until I hear anything different. So its max 5 anglers (unless living together in which case 6) I don’t have much availability at the moment although I could have to move groups around due to numbers ect.
