We’ve still been getting some nice roker and good numbers for the time of year. Inshore roker have been the main fish showing as any round fish big enough are still feeding on the sprats which are abundant at the moment. When we fished further out last week leon found a little surprise amongst the whiting in the form of a small codling. I think he assumed it was a whiting at first until closer inspection. We had a move a mile or so and he found its brother! Either that or it had caught us up. Its really pleasing to see this micro codlets and it would be nice to see numbers of them. Two is a start but if we start to see loads then I could get excited as it will bode well for future winters. For now though I am pleased that the mild weather is providing some very good fishing in the shelter of the blackwater estuary and surrounding area. I have a few spaces this week.
