ireland 2018

Today looked to be the last day we would get off for sharks and to be  honest the weather looked awful after this so we headed off for sharks. The wind really picked up in the night with force 7-8 coming through but dying this morning. This made mackerel harder to find but once we had enough for bait we headed out. there was still a big swell outside the harbour but we took a slow ride and pushed  offshore. It was too rough to get any baits on the bottom for other bits and bobs but just about manageable for sharks. We got the baits down and ruby dubby going and it was nearly an hour before the first take. Stacey had a nice blue before we got bust up by a couple. Stacey had 3 more as the day went on including a small one on a spinning rod! I managed to sneak one out and we called that the end of the day with some fairly big seas running by now. The biggest went over 6ft from snout to tail fork so was around the 100lbs mark. We took a slow ride home after this.
