We’ve been lucky enough to get a couple of trtips in here and there despite the succession of storms rolling through. The weather has put a stop to the last couple of offshore trips but fishing inshore has made up for it. With such poor weather we havnt left the blackwater for a couple of weeks now. Its still fishing well there though so in all but the worst conditions we can still get you out. Carl and Billy-roy hired the whole boat them selves the other day. The wind had a nip to it and was fairly strong but we sat comfortably all day and it remained dry too. We had steady fishing from the first cast with roker coming aboard all day. Billy-roy was on his second trip with me and just as last time he was keen as mustard. He reeled his fish in with a good technique dispite some being decent sized roker. He only struggled with one fish all day and when he got it in we could see why. Not only did he had a roker around 7lbs but a 3ft bundle of weed and crabs and all sorts that many anglers would have simply snapped off on. His dad Carl fished well all day but couldn’t keep up with Billy-roys angling! The lads totalled 31 roker as well as a few whiting and a dogfish for the day. It was nice to see them and I look forwards to their next outing. The sprats seem to have moved out now so hopefully we can get further down in search of some mixed fishing this week but if not there still seem to be plenty of roker showing in the river.
