the forecast was nice today and so we headed out with 4 lads aboard just to get afloat. We knew fishing had been hard but we just wanted to get afloat. Besides we wouldn’t catch much sitting at home and how will we know if the fishing has picked up if we arnt out there? We headed off to where we had fished last week to start the day. My hope was that we would catch a few fish here at least before looking for something bigger. I fished myself and with a light rod and braided mainline I could see plenty of bites from the start. I wasn’t hooking them all but at least I was getting bites. We had the odd dab coming in and a couple of tiny whiting too. We fished here until the tide turned then had a move. The lads had all caught now and were keen to try for something that might bend a rod. We sat it out all afternoon for a roker but didn’t have a touch! It was a slow day but enjoyable with pleasant weather and some nice lads aboard. Just 6 dabs and 2 whiting for our efforts was a shame but at least we got out.
