We were out today with several lads on the famous (or infamous) golden cod competition. The weather was great, in fact maybe a bit too nice to be sat in the river but those are the rules. Plenty of fish came out although size limits are big to stop loads of fish being weighed in. we took a wrong turn at first and had nothing to start with but we moved later in the day to join the main pack where we found a few roker. Unfortunately it was too late for us to catch up with the others though and some of them had some nice roker too. We had 5 roker by the end of the day. 3 of them were big enough to weigh in but we released them as we heard some of the others boats had slightly larger fish. there were a few nice double figure fish weighed in along with a cod too which was a novelty and a relief to see. There was plenty of money raised for the RNLI and air ambulance along with plenty of happy people
