Headed to Norfolk today for our annual pike fishing trip. Today I was not only joined by dad but my brother lee which was a nice bonus. We had left home nice and early so we were fishing soon after the sun was up. Before we even made our first stop dad had a take on his rod which he promptly missed. We stopped and got a bit more settled I was then lucky enough to get the next bite. I was soon playing a decent fish which went very well for the time of year (probably due to the milder weather we have seen). Lee soon put the net under it and it turned out to be my best pike for a few years going around 15.8lbs. we had no more pike here so had a move. The next area produced several takes for dad and lee before lee got a jack pike to the boat. The rest of the day consisted of dad and lee missing several more takes before we headed home. Between us we had 10-12 bites but just the two pike for the day. I was lucky enough to have a 100% hook up rate with my one bite or I wouldn’t have faired too well. It was a pleasant day to be up here regardless of fish and no doubt we will be back in 2019.
