Out today with 7 lads on board of varying experience. One of the lads was a bit on the drag and we headed off without him but luckily dad was about early too and bumped into him. We hadn’t got too far so we did a quick ‘u’ turn and headed back to collect him (this doesn’t happen for everybody). Once we were finally under way it didn’t take long to arrive at our first mark. It was slack tide but Andy and Greg had a double hook up on roker first cast which was promising to start with. As the tide got going we had very little else. Gary had a nice dab and there were a few dogfish caught but after an hour or so of tide we had no more roker. We put a short move in to another mark, we didn’t stay here long as the tide was heaving through by now. We had another short move and found comfortable fishing and a steady run of fish for the rest of the tide. We had a move over slack water to where I had seen good numbers of fish last trip. This too was disappointing as we had just two more roker. It just goes to show you cant be on them all of the time. Anybody who said they always catch loads would be lying to them selves. We finished up with 16 roker, a dab, several whiting and dogfish for the day so not a complete failure.
