Had a premier trip today with several of the regulars out, the weather was better than previously predicted so we manged to nick a day outside of the river. The bonus of having the blackwater estuary to fish is that on days like today we didn’t have to cancel as we knew at the very least we had the estuary as a back up. We got to our first mark for the first of the tide and as expected there were endless amounts of whiting coming in from the start. We had the odd dogfish thrown in and one or two roker came out too as the tide ran at a nice steady pace. Martin snuck out a jumbo pouting to liven things up (it may have had him fooled for a short while on the way in). we had a long stint with no roker so decided on a move for the last of the tide. Just as I hauled the anchor we had another roker but continued with our move anyway. The next mark only produced whiting and as the tide turned we decided on another move. We finished the day off here with a few more roker and a little codling for andy as well as the usual whiting and dogfish. Finished up with 8 roker 1 codling and loads of whiting, few dogs and a pout.
