Our general trips have been producing lots of fish lately as we would expect at this time of year. The whiting and dogfish are nailing our baits very quickly and in between them we are still seeing several different species. There are still one or two decent bass showing inshore. the roker are there though we have to work harder for them nowadays. One or two pouting and dabs are showing too and even seeing one or two codling on most inshore trips! Now these aren’t giants, nor will they fill your freezers up but they are a very welcome sight and certainly put a spring in my step on a chilly autumn morning.
With school holidays on the horizon this time of year is often a popular time to get the youngsters out while there are plenty of bites to be had and its still quite warm.
Offshore the bass are still feeding well and becoming quite chunky from it too. These will provide great fun on light tackle and will continue to occupy us on our offshore trips until the end of November. I have spaces on these trips over the coming weeks as well as boat availability. Please get in touch if you fancy joining us.
Remember it is often worth giving me a shout if you are cancelled else where and still wish to get out, as we have lots of sheltered fishing available and a big catamaran which makes it even more comfortable.
