We have seen a fair mix of weather over the last week or so and a fair mix of fishing too.
The smooth-hound numbers continue to increase. These are the main target on general trips now along with bass. The size and numbers of each vary from place to place and day to day but there have been some decent hounds and bass coming out lately.
Thorn-back rays still feature highly in our daily catches too and once again we have seen some decent fish into double figures among our catches. Of course the dogfish and whiting keep on coming too!
Tony and the lads had a nice mixed catch the other day, they had around 25 bass, 20 odd hounds and 9 rays for their efforts.
Les and Steve braved the rain to catch them selves so chunky bass for the table too. 15 roker and lots of hounds came out too that day.
These made up some nice mixed bags, when the conditions suit we have concentrated on hounds and found some big females too. These are great sport and now is the time to catch them. As it happens the lads are struggling to fill their boat booking this Sunday (29th) so I have some spaces. It is a general trip so targeting smooth-hounds, bass and rays at the moment.
