As many of you will know by now we have the new boat operational now. She is a blyth catamaran 10 meters long by 5 meters beam. The 10m blyth is a well proven tried and tested hull popular with both anglers and skippers alike for the speed, stability and room they offer. Ours offers plenty of room as she has plenty of fishing room all alongside the wheelhouse as well as the after deck. She is powered by two 8.2 litre Doosan engines giving her 460hp combined. This will push her along comfortably at 16-18 knots even with 12 people on board. On deck she has a live well, seating for everybody along with spray covers to the rear of the wheelhouse and a toilet at deck level. Access is far easier to the boat as we have fitted a side entry door in the gunwale of the boat so you don’t have to clamber over a gunwale when your wet weather gear is restricting your movement. Inside the wheelhouse there is more seating and a decent galley with a nice hot kettle so I can make you plenty of dodgy tea and coffee. We have been using her for a month now and have had lots of positive feedback from the anglers. If you have fished on a catamaran before then you will know the benefits and if you haven’t please join us to find out.
The only bad point about getting the new boat is we will have to let the evolution go. She has performed very well in some very rough weather and done everything ive asked of her but I needed more room as ive found myself turning away too many anglers too often and a catamaran has always been our goal. We have had the evo out for a couple of weeks to tidy her up and will be advertising her from next week. she is currently out of the water and I know a couple of people have shown an interest in her already so if you wish to see her out of the water please contact me as she will be going back in next week some time.

It was a hard slog getting the blyth into shape and I have been lucky enough to have some great help along the way. Stacey and dad have helped as you may expect but loads of the other lads have helped along the way with cleaning, holding the other end of the spanner, hydraulic advise and anything shiney and metal is thanks to Stephen Charles who is still making more stainless bits for me now. As ever peter clarkes boat yard have been a great help from the start to the finish and always there with advise or help.
