july

as last week I put a report up covering our tope season this weeks report will cover a couple of weeks fishing. it was a busy couple of weeks with people of all abilities on board the ‘Galloper’. The weather has played ball and let us get out and the fish have been within easy reach and willing to play. Most full day trips have seen 20-40 hounds coming out with doubles fairly common place. The bass have been hit and miss, one day there will be plenty and a few keepers then the next just schoolies. we’ve had some nice fish mixed in though with the biggest over the past week or two falling to john at 5.5lbs. We’ve had a few silver eels coming out one day we had 4 which is a lot for these days. There has been a few roker mixed in here and there along with the odd whiting and dogfish too. we had a couple of short evening trips last week one of which saw most of our regulars from the day trip stay aboard to try and target stingray. By some stroke of luck we managed  to call one up to order. Stephen Clarke winkled out his first stingray which was a modest 6.2lbs but more than welcome. most of the lads hadn’t seen one before so were intrigued and excited. Steve canham lost what was either a roker of a stinger last cast too. on that particular trip we had plenty of bass with the biggest falling to andy at 3.8-4lbs and an eel for joe. I have had a couple of spaces come up in august but most weekends are fairly busy, I can still offer full boat bookings mid week though.
