I’m sorry but ive been so busy I will have to keep my reports minimal. The weather has been kind and the fishing has been great lately. Fred and the lads booked the boat for a general trip. We started off with plenty of mackerel, had a few small hounds and stuck a tope rod out throughout the day. we had a couple of roker and dogfish on this rod but no signs of tope although a couple came out on boats near to us that day. we had over 2 hours hectic bass fishing in the middle of the day and the lads got a nice bass each to take home. The rest of the day was spent catching more small to medium hounds and was great fun.
We headed back out on a short evening trip after with lemar and his family, we had a few roker to start with and finished off with some bass on the way home on a lovely evening.
The lads the next day got off to a bad start when they didn’t realise that alcohol is prohibited on the boat. On the third time of telling them I confiscated the booze so they could concentrate on fishing (that is the whole point in my business, if you wish to drink please visit a pub). We had a few roker before the tide died. Over slack we just picked up some dogfish. The muppets they tried were surprisingly un-productive? To finish the day off we had a go for bass and had some hectic fishing with the lads catching some cracking bass and taking several for the pot. Once the had there one per person they lost interest so we wasted our time for roker before heading in.
There have been some good numbers of bass on the general trips and several table fish amongst them. It is worth bringing some worm along to increase your chances if you would like one. There are still a few roker about although they are gradually moving off as we would expect this time of year. In the right place at the right time we have found plenty of mackerel but as ever these fish can be hit and miss. There have been a few other bits and bobs around too. martin had a nice tub gurnard with me the other day which brightened his day up. There have been a few more stingrays come out although they have still avoided my boat so far. The tope have shown earlier than other years and several good fish have already come out.
I have 2 spaces this Sunday on an offshore trip (weather permitting). Other than that I can only offer week days for tope, the best tides fall midweek this year so if you are interested please let me know. If I get enough individuals contact me then I might try and organise a midweek trip for tope. Full boat bookings are welcome as ever.
