Today was very hard work to say the least. I had 6 individuals aboard on hire rods and the weather was lovely. We got away and had a pleasant steam down to our chosen mark. I got the lads cast out and there were a few small bites before one of the lads had a roker, his first ever which was a small female which went back. To be honest that was it for the rest of the day. We had a dogfish fall off beside the boat and a few missed bites but other than that it was a long quiet day with several moves and no fish. we did shoot a herring net and got the lads a bucket of herring for tea on the way home. The river was rammed with sprats but they should move off in the next week or two which should leave us with some well fed fish to catch.
