puddle chucking

With a fair breeze today I headed off pike fishing with dad and my brother lee. We arrived at dawn and the lake was busy today with several lads having fished the night for carp. Lee and dad jumped in our more favoured swims while I went around the corner to a swim that had produced a couple of fish for me the trip before last. Lee and dad were into fish soon after setting up, they had several fish each before my first one. I eventually winkled out a decent perch but by now lee had managed 4 or 5 pike the biggest just into doubles. Around midday several of the carp anglers went home so as they packed up I moved around to their swims. I was in the next swim just a couple of minutes before I had my first pike of the day. It was no monster but I was very glad of it today. I moved a while later to the next swim where I had two more pike. With time getting on I moved again to the next swim on from that which resulted in me loosing a nice fish but that was all. Dad and lee had done very well around the other side of the lake. Lee was now up to 7 pike and dad had 5. That’s a lot of pike from a section of bank less that 50 yards long! We had all had another nice day together and had a few fish each. I was very pleased to see lee have a good day after a couple of hard trips the last couple of weeks (even if he did beat me) .
