Luke had booked an evening trip tonight and unfortunately the weather was forecast to be awful. I gave the lads the option but they were still keen to go so as I didn’t want to let them down I took them out but not without a fair warning regarding weather ect. The lads were held up in traffic ont the way down unfortunately so we were best part of an hour late away. there were plenty of whiting coming out from the off and by slack water we had several along with the odd dogfish. The tide took and age to turn and one it did the wind picked up. I offered to lads a 4 hour trip if they wanted to cut their losses but they are hardcore anglers (or just plane mad) so we continued to fish. there were no shortage of whiting coming out with the odd dogfish too but nothing to write home about. As the night drew on the wind increased as forecast and then the rain started. We had got away lightly so far but after an hour or so of rain even these hardy men were willing to accept defeat and we headed in a little early. Loads of whiting and a few dogfish but the lads had an evening out. I must admit by the time we got back even getting the Galloper on to the causeway was a handful let alone getting myself from the mooring to the car in the middle of the night.
