Headed out tonight with a premier evening trip with several regular lads. we hoped to target some hounds but I must say were disappointed by the lack of crabs in the pot. Luckily the lads had a fair bit of rag and alec had crabs (again) so we continued. The wind had died to leave a calm evening for us. We arrived at slack tide but as the first trickle of tide ran through the lads started to pick thye first hounds up. As we’ve seen so far this year the numbers of hounds was good but the average stamp isn’t massive. To be fair they are the stamp that we might expect around here and there have been several better ones mixed in to keep interest up. I had a rod out this evening but with a shortage of crabs I left them to the lads I stuck with some lug that had been donated to me and had a steady stream of schoolie bass for the first couple of hours. We snuck a couple of roker out as well but the hounds were the target. Adem managed to get the biggest of the evening , he must do something right as he seems to catch well each time he comes with us. He was very pleased with a nice female hound of around double figures and his biggest so far. The fishing slowed a bit as the evening drew to a close but we had done well with 20 odd hounds (most of which to alec) and the roker and bass so a lovely evening.
