Had a premier offshore trip today, as ever we were after catching what ever we could get but one last stab at the spurs was our aim. The weather was great as we headed out with an early start. If anything the weather just improved throughout the day .  after a couple of hours we arrived at our first mark and got fishing. It didn’t take long for the dogfish to home in on us and they were soon becoming a pain. The lads fished through them but after the first hour or two we hadn’t seen anything different so we put a move in. we arrived at our next mark as the tide eased back and again saw lots of dogfish and a few pouting over slack tide. As the tide began to turn we put a move in again. the next mark produced only dogfish and the tide was a bit strong so we had a move again. it was looking like a dogfish day until barry found us our first roker. This was soon followed by another for uncle steve and another for matt. Stephen topped a hard day off with a nice bass of 4.4lbs which was definitely the highlight for us. It had been a hard days fishing but the weather and the banter had made it for us. This is how it can be fishing offshore, much as any fishing its still hit and miss.
